It looks as though it will not be a Happy New Year for all in Sweden.
Of the two major car makers in Sweden the smiles seem to be in the Volvo camp near Gothenburg while latest reports in state the offer made for Saab by Spyker Cars of Holland is faltering.
Volvo is being sold by Ford to Geely who are China’s largest private car maker and whose intention is to build a new factory in China to produce initially 300,000 cars annually, peaking at 1,000,000 units in 5 years.
Saab, at present, are not so lucky with no Chinese saviour on the horizon. Personally The Car Hub team have always had an affinity with both Volvo and Saab who have produced cars with an individuality about them and not appearing like every other car on the road but with a different badge on the bonnet.
The pattern in the business world is getting more pronounced each day with more and more production being taken over by Chinese firms, as the saying goes “it’s now the way of the world”
We’ll be sorry to see the end of Saab, will You?
