If you are an avid MG fan then the only place to be between June 4th and June 6th is Silverstone race track where the first public outing of the new MG6 will take place before it finally goes on sale in November.
China’s Shanghai Automotive (SAIC) are preparing to restart production at Longbridge with their MG6 saloon.
This MG6 model based on a combination of their Roewe550 and a Rover75, which will be slightly larger than a Skoda Octavia, will be in showrooms on sale in October.
Chen Hong the president of the Shanghai Automotive Industries Corporation (SAIC), who own the rights to the MG name, announced at the Guangzhou Motor Show in China yesterday that their new MG6 will be produced at Longbridge.
The first sales will begin next spring with models built in China, these should be followed by British built cars in late 2010 or early 2011.
