GM U-turn! Now Opel's a gem worth keeping

General Motors has made a U-turn and decided not to sell its European subsidiary Opel in view of "an improving business environment for GM over the past few months and the importance of Opel/Vauxhall to GM's global strategy". So how does that affect GM operations in South Africa? It won't, says GMSA communications manager Denise van Huyssteen.

Stand by for a first by Google and Motorola. Between them these two companies have effectively put the skids, so to speak, under the whole car Sat-Nav business, and also to a degree (sorry about the pun) GPS devices.
Up to the present Tom-Tom and Garmin have carved up the markets but the release of the link up with Google and Motorola has seriously undermined their markets and share values.
