Stand by for a first by Google and Motorola. Between them these two companies have effectively put the skids, so to speak, under the whole car Sat-Nav business, and also to a degree (sorry about the pun) GPS devices.
Up to the present Tom-Tom and Garmin have carved up the markets but the release of the link up with Google and Motorola has seriously undermined their markets and share values.
The big asset of the Google/Motorola venture is the use of satellite imagery and Google’s “street view” system to allow viewing of the actual street you’re driving on; Motorola will have all this technology called “Google Maps Navigation” fitted into their Droid phones
Available in the U.S.A. in the first instance us UK people will have to wait for smart phones using the first version of Google’s Android system to be able to update to version 2.0
