If you are an avid MG fan then the only place to be between June 4th and June 6th  is Silverstone race track where the first public outing of the new MG6 will take place before it finally goes on sale in November.
Whatever your feelings are about the scandal of those despicable Phoenix Four in ruining what remained of the old MG set up we have to be thankful that the Shanghai Automotive Industry Corporation (SAIC) have put money into the old Longbridge factory in Birmingham to continue the production of MG cars.
The new MG6 will be a hatchback model rather than an iconic sports car as in the mould of bygone days but perhaps for now we have to be thankful for just this.
With a price range of £15k to £18k for the 1.8 litre turbo-charged petrol fuelled model, which tops out at 132mph, the initial line up might be considered limited leaving MG with a possible uphill task of making it sales mark among a  very tough and crowded opposition. Fans of the MG marquee will be needed in large numbers to ensure continued success for SAIC.
