Car Hire Shortages Again This Year

Author: Bill

Car hire companies are forecasting there will again be shortages of cars for hire in holiday destinations this year.
In June last year The Car Hub warned motorists that due to the financial downturn in the economy there would be shortages in the coming summer rent a car availability. Our forecast was proved correct with widespread shortages ranging from cheap car hire to the top end of the market.
We are now only a few weeks away from the big Easter getaway and once again, unless you book early, you could well be disappointed; this warning will  apply throughout the year as car hire companies have not been able to borrow sufficient funds to finance extra cars for their fleets.
In addition to the above about 15% of the car rental fleet has been removed by the Toyota recall problems which will still be an ongoing factor for this Easter.
A last tip here is not to rely on a last minute booking for cheap car hire at airports as these locations are likely to be the first to run short of stock.
